EAP Counselor/Training Specialist

Location: Remote in Idaho and Texas (statewide)
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time/Contract
Reports to: Director of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

Pay Rate: Compensation of up to $100 per 45-minute session, with additional performance-based bonuses reflective of your experience and specialized skills.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced EAP Counselor/Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide confidential counseling services to employees through our EAP, addressing personal and professional challenges, and also lead workshops and training sessions on a wide range of mental health and wellness topics. You will play a key role in helping employees develop the mental health tools they need to succeed, while also delivering impactful, evidence-based training programs to enhance organizational well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

EAP Counseling:

  • Provide confidential, short-term counseling to employees, addressing personal and professional challenges such as stress, anxiety, burnout, and work-life balance.
  • Offer solution-focused coaching to help employees navigate workplace challenges, improve performance, and build resilience.
  • Develop and implement individual action plans that empower employees to address mental health concerns and improve overall well-being.
  • Ensure clients are connected with appropriate resources for long-term support when necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of counseling sessions in compliance with company policies and confidentiality standards.

Training & Workshop Facilitation need but not required:

  • Develop and lead training sessions and workshops on workplace wellness topics, including but not limited to: stress management, burnout prevention, emotional intelligence, mental health first aid, and effective communication.
  • Customize training content to meet the unique needs of different organizations, aligning with company goals, values, and challenges.
  • Deliver engaging, interactive live virtual and in-person workshops to employees and organizational leaders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions through feedback surveys, adjusting content as needed to ensure continued improvement.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with organizational leaders and HR departments to understand employee needs and tailor EAP and training offerings accordingly.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance and support through the EAP.
  • Actively participate in employee wellness initiatives and collaborate with other team members to support organizational mental health goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in EAP services, mental health counseling, and workplace wellness.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensed counselor (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or similar) in good standing with relevant state licensing boards.
  • 1+ years of experience providing counseling, coaching, or therapy services, preferably within an EAP or corporate setting.
  • Experience designing and facilitating training programs and workshops on mental health and workplace wellness topics.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse employee populations.
  • Empathy and cultural competency, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care and discretion.
  • Proficiency with virtual platforms for conducting online counseling sessions and facilitating virtual workshops (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Passion for helping others and a genuine desire to contribute to the mental health and well-being of employees.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Mental Health First Aid, Certified EAP Counselor, or similar professional credentials.
  • Experience with wellness program implementation and employee engagement strategies.
  • Background in organizational development or leadership coaching.
