Common questions about MindLift Alliance
What services does MindLift Alliance offer?
We offer individual therapy for adults and teens, couples and marriage counseling, family therapy, children’s play therapy, group therapy for anxiety and depression and grief, EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counseling, court-ordered classes, and continuing education for licensed mental health professionals through MindLift Academy. We also offer bilingual (Mandarin/English) counseling for Chinese-American clients. See our full services page for the complete list.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept most major Texas insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, United Healthcare/Optum, Magellan, and Humana. Insurance coverage for therapy varies by plan — our intake team will verify your specific benefits before your first appointment so you know your expected cost in advance. If your plan is not listed, call us and we’ll check whether we can bill as an out-of-network provider. See our insurance page for the full details.
How do I use my EAP benefit at MindLift?
Call your EAP provider’s number (on your employee benefits card) to get an authorization code and session limit. Then call us at (972) 855-8183 with that code and we’ll handle the rest — verifying the authorization, matching you with the right therapist, and scheduling your first appointment. Most EAP sessions are fully covered by your employer at zero out-of-pocket cost. Learn more on our EAP page.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions across Texas. Online therapy is available for individual, couples, family, and group sessions. Telehealth requires only a device with a camera and a private space — no special software downloads are needed. Many clients in North Texas use a combination of in-person and telehealth sessions depending on their schedule. All of our therapists offer telehealth as a standard option.
How do I get started?
Contact us through our contact page or call (972) 855-8183. Our intake team will ask a few brief questions about what you’re looking for, check your insurance, and match you with the therapist best suited to your needs. Most clients schedule their first session within one week of reaching out. If you’re in a more urgent situation, tell our intake team — we’ll do our best to accommodate you quickly.
Do you have bilingual (Mandarin/Chinese) therapists?
Yes. We have Mandarin-speaking therapists on staff who are fluent in English and Mandarin and deeply familiar with Chinese-American cultural dynamics, family expectations, and the specific stressors that affect Chinese-American clients. Sessions can be conducted in English, Mandarin, or both — your therapist will follow your lead. Learn more at our Chinese counseling services page.
Where are you located?
Our office is at 8951 Collin McKinney Pkwy #801, McKinney, Texas 75070. We serve clients in-person from McKinney, Plano, Allen, Frisco, Prosper, and surrounding North Texas communities — and telehealth clients statewide across Texas. Parking is free and plentiful at our McKinney location.
Do you see children and teens as well as adults?
Yes. We serve clients from age 3 through adulthood. Our child therapists specialize in play therapy for children ages 3–12 and individual therapy for older children. Our teen specialists work with middle and high school students on anxiety, ADHD, social challenges, identity, and school stress. We also offer an after-school social skills group for children and teens.
Do you offer group therapy?
Yes. We offer structured, therapist-led group therapy for anxiety and worry management, depression support, and grief and trauma recovery. Groups are small (typically 6–10 members), confidential, and highly effective for the specific conditions they address. Group therapy is often covered by insurance at a lower copay than individual therapy. See our group therapy page for current schedules and enrollment information.
What are your fees if I don’t have insurance?
We offer transparent self-pay rates for clients without insurance or those who prefer not to use their insurance benefits. Sliding-scale fees are available for clients who qualify based on financial need — please ask about this during the intake call. We believe financial barriers should not prevent someone from getting the mental health support they need, and we’ll work with you to find a sustainable arrangement. Contact our intake team at (972) 855-8183 for current rate information.
Are your therapists licensed?
Yes. All MindLift Alliance therapists hold active licenses through the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, the state licensing body for LPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and psychologists in Texas. We do not employ unlicensed or pre-licensed counselors as primary therapists. Every clinician participates in regular supervision and continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current with evolving clinical standards.
