About Course
This course is designed around the 40-hour clinical supervision training requirements for Texas LMFT Supervisor applicants under 22 Texas Administrative Code §801.143(m). Participants must complete all coursework and assignments within 90 days.
Completing this course does not automatically grant LMFT Supervisor status. Participants are responsible for meeting all other eligibility requirements and applying to the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) for LMFT-S designation.
Through this training, participants will learn to:
- Build an ethical, developmentally appropriate supervisory relationship with LMFT Associates
- Apply supervision models through a systemic and relational lens
- Use case consultation, group supervision, evaluation, corrective feedback, and competency assessment
- Address clinical process, case conceptualization, and personal factors in supervision
- Apply Texas LMFT rules, applicable ethical standards, and legal requirements to supervisory decisions
- Document supervision, maintain records, and develop supervision plans and contracts
- Support culturally responsive practice and the professional development of marriage and family therapists
- Identify performance concerns and develop appropriate remediation plans
- Understand the legal, ethical, and gatekeeping responsibilities of a Texas LMFT Supervisor
About the Instructor
Ally Xiaoli Wang is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) # 81949 with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, leadership, and professional development. As President of MindLift Alliance Therapy & Counseling Associates, Ally oversees clinical training, supervision, and quality of care for associate clinicians. She is a seasoned clinical director, supervisor, coach, and speaker who brings extensive real-world expertise to this 40-hour LMFT Supervisor Training—ensuring that every lesson is ethical, practical, and grounded in current Texas supervision training standards.
